From the Principal
Welcome to Joseph Welsh Elementary School.
Our namesake, Mr. Welsh, joined RDPSD in 1923 as a grade eight teacher and principal of the public school. In 1940 he moved to the intermediate school as principal and later became superintendent of schools. Mr. Welsh personified the traditions of scholarship and old world courtesy. Mr. Welsh retired in 1954 and RDPSD honoured his legacy with the building of and naming of Joseph Welsh Elementary in 1960.
